Testimonials offer some of the strongest social proof and authority to a brand. These videos help convince potential new customers to move forward with their purchase.
RALA has a page that sales agents use to showcase the social proof of RALA training and this tutorial will walk you through how to add a new testimonial to that specific page.
Step 1: Login to WordPress and Go to Testimonials
Visit residentialassistedlivingacademy.com/wp-admin/ and login. Once you’re logged in, navigate to the testimonials page and click “Add new”.
Step 2: Add the Testimonial Details
There are currently two types of testimonials.
Home Page Testimonial
This testimonial includes the student’s name, video, and story/description. We only publish to the Home Page location if we have all three of these.
When we receive a video, if it does not have a description with it, listen to the first several minutes to draft a description to post.
Testimonial Page
This testimonial only requires the profession/s of the individual/s in the video. If the profession is not listed in the request or on the video page, go ahead and watch the first several minutes of the video to try and pick out the profession/industry to list.
Adding Your Details
Title: Title the entry the name of the person or people. This ultimately doesn’t matter beyond being able to find the entry later for editing.
Profession: Type in the profession in first letter capitals. If there are two people, type in both professions separated by ‘and’.
Video: Paste the link to the video and then hit tab. It will take 3-4 seconds for the video to load. Do not publish the entry until the video thumbnail appears.
Location: Choose where you want this to appear.
Name / Title: This field will typically always been the name of the person.
Description: Create a short summary of the person’s testimonial. Look at the testimonials on the home page, scroll down, for examples.
Step 3: Publish and Review
After you have added all the details, click the publish button and then view the pages where you assigned the video to appear. In this example it will be the home page and the testimonial page.
If everything look appropriate, you’re ready to move on to the next video.
